Hi Albertson neighbors! We're off to a later start this year, but the NEW Albertson Civic is hosting our first meeting of the year! The Albertson Civic will be having our first members meeting on March 25th at 7:30pm at the Albertson Fire House.
The Albertson Civic President, Ed Rakowski, will provide an overview of the new not-for-profit corporation, why we have taken this step and how it will help us to do more for Albertson while continuing to provide the events and services you enjoy and rely upon.
We will have other interesting guest speakers. First is John Fabio of the Greenvale Civic Association. John is also one of the leaders of a community group that is lobbying State and County government on the Propel NY Energy Project concerning battery power storage and wind energy initiatives on Long Island. This issue was highlighted in the most recent Mineola-Williston Times. John will explain how this rapidly developing issue could impact us.
We also welcome back our Town Councilman Edward Scott as our final guest speaker of the evening. The Councilman will update us on an important public hearing coming up regarding an initiative he has brought to the Board that has to do with Fences in our community. We've asked him to also discuss the Town of North Hempstead's participation with other local governments in a lawsuit against the FAA.
So please come to the meeting at the Albertson Fire House and re-affirm your membership with your local civic team. Please note that of necessity we have increased our annual membership dues from $10 to $15 per household. Dues can be paid at the meeting on March 25th or mailed to our new address at:
The Civic Association of Albertson, Inc
PO Box 14
Albertson, NY 11507
For your convenience, the ability to pay for membership is coming online soon!
If you have a business in Albertson and are interested in becoming a sponsor, send us an e-mail.
Lastly, we have rebranded to The Albertson Civic on Facebook and can be found at @thealbertsoncivic on Instagram! Please visit and check out the new Board under "officers" for 2025!
We hope to see you at the meeting on March 25th!
